What you'll be doing: Realtime monitoring of the system requiring support Acting as first point of contact for clients, via email or direct messaging Building new monitoring and enhancing existing monitoring for the system as it grows Carrying out application releases Performing system restarts during hardware maintenance or after hardware crashes Investigating errors which are reported by clients and/or monitoring Triaging issues reported by clients and/or monitoring and raise to development team as necessary Reviewing code changes in advance of an application release Ensuring good handover of all things outstanding from one shift to the next Experience and skills required: 1+ years' experience providing kdb+ support to clients, ideally within Financial Services Minimum 3.5 GPA Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or other scientific/engineering discipline Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts in layman's terms Excellent client facing skills Capable of working both independently and as part of a team Analytical and problem-solving mind-set Detail-orientated and results driven with a can-do attitude Comfortability working under pressure and meeting deadlines Comfortable with shift patterns and weekend work as required Experience and skills desired*: *But don't rule yourself out if you haven't had the opportunity to develop these skills yet Experience with Geneos monitoring Understanding of incident management processes, ideally using ServiceNow Experience working with Unix What's on offer: Flexible working we offer hybrid working so our people can achieve that elusive work/life balance.
